Hydrangea aspera ‘Villosa’ is a wonderful variety of Hydrangea. It has coarse slightly hairy dark-green leaves that do not give this excellent shrub the justice it deserves because as the end of Summer approaches this deciduous shrub really comes into its own. Flattened heads of very tightly packed tiny blue-purple flowers bloom in August that are surrounded by white sometimes flushed mauve florets. Bees and insects seem to love this plant so prepare for the wildlife that will be attracted to this Hydrangea. Due to it’s rounded habit this shrub looks amazing towards the back of a border where it will provide structure and colour. Strong bushy plants supplied in approx. 2-3 litre containers.
