I’m going to start this week’s blog post by shamelessly stealing someone else’s idea! My good friend Jenny Peterson did a great garden video showing highlights of her gardening year in 2010.  So, I thought I’d do a video of all the fantastic gardens I visited last year. Here it is…

If you’d like to know more about the gardens that are featured in the video please click on the following links:

Alhambra Palace garden Granada Spain

Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden

Burghley House Lincolnshire

Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, Cordoba, Spain

I love your video, Rachel–and so jealous that you’ve done so much travel to visit these beautiful gardens! I have to admit, I started right in watching the video without thoroughly reading your lead in, so for the first few seconds I thought these were gardens you designed! Lovely.

Heh heh heh – yes I designed them all cough cough cough!!

It’s funny, I hadn’t realised I done quite so much traveling last year but I guess I did! Looking forward to seeing what great gardens you have in Austin when I visit in March. Hope you’ve got a good list of places for me to visit, I’ll be bringing my camera!

Thanks for sharing! What contrast in light and effects from Spain to the UK; both still a difference from the laser-beam sun here, and it is only winter…

I remember seeing “Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos” in college. It was a favorite from then for the simplicity and diversity – hardscape and plants – but I never saw it again, until now. The sculpture garden is exquisite! Actually, the entire video is.

It was a pleasure to watch it and it was inspiring.

My pleasure David! The Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos is certainly an amazing garden, I think it will be hard to find a better one. It was one of the first I came across on my trip so every other garden got compared to it.

Glad you enjoyed the video Eugen :o)
